Petal loves Dog Rose, particularly the detail on the leaves and the centres of the flowers - she said you could feel the texture of the paint, and apparently in real life flowers aren't smooth so bumpy painting suits it! The only change she would make would be to make the spikes on the collar sticky out middles of flowers too, with flower petals made out of fabric surrounding each spike. I asked why they had to be made of fabric, and not painted on like the others and received a withering look along with the explanation that if the collar slipped around a bit then they wouldn't line up anymore. Fair enough!
Dog Rose is different to most of the other Gromits in that there is blank space left around the trailing flower design, and I think it looks great. There was so much depth and detail, and the vivid colours are just gorgeous. Smiler was able to tell us there were pink flowers and green leaves, as he wasn't overloaded by visual stimuli. Smiler also correctly identified a 'forn mummy, forn ouch!', which I was pretty impressed with too!
